People who travel a lot across European Union countries, both for business and private purposes, no longer have to worry about how much they will pay for calls, SMS, and internet usage outside Poland. According to the European Union Council regulation from June 2017, additional charges for calls and SMS in roaming have been eliminated, and customers can use them under the same conditions as in their home country. The same applies to surfing the internet abroad. What is the offer for Orange prepaid customers? How can they top up their phone abroad, and how much will they pay for using individual services? How to Top Up Your Phone Abroad?
Running out of funds on your account, especially while in another country, can significantly complicate communication with others and prevent you from achieving your goals. Therefore, it is worth knowing how to top up your account abroad in just a few seconds.
The Orange network offers its customers several convenient ways to top up their account abroad: via scratch cards and online – there are several options for online top-ups. How do these top-ups work in practice abroad?
Online Top-Up Abroad
Customers can also top up their phone abroad via the internet – through their mobile banking, the top-up.orange.pl website, or the My Orange app.
The latter two methods are particularly attractive because they allow you to get bonus GB for each top-up. The number of such additional GB depends on the top-up amount, and you can receive up to 200 GB with a single top-up.
The entire process of topping up your phone abroad via the My Orange app or the top-up.orange.pl website takes just a moment. In the app, after logging in, simply click the 'Top-Up' option available on the main screen in the 'Account Status' section. Then select the top-up amount and make an online payment, e.g., via BLIK.
On the top-up.orange.pl website, you need to fill out a short 'form,' which includes:
- entering the phone number you want to top up (you can add multiple numbers at once to top up accounts for your loved ones abroad),
- entering an email address where the top-up confirmation will be sent by Orange,
- choosing the top-up amount,
- making an online payment, e.g., via BLIK.
Orange Abroad – Calls and SMS
Orange prepaid customers can use all services in roaming within the European Union under the same conditions as in Poland. Both voice calls and sent SMS and MMS are billed as if they were made in the home country.
This means that customers who have purchased packages of free minutes, SMS, and MMS or use unlimited calls and text messages to all domestic networks will be able to use them under the same conditions abroad, provided they are in one of the EU member states.
For those who want to use their phone abroad but have not purchased any packages, calls made and SMS sent will be charged according to the price list applicable in Poland: 0.79 PLN per minute/SMS/MMS. Importantly, customers do not incur any costs for receiving calls, unlike the rules that applied earlier.
Internet Abroad – How Much Does It Cost?
The costs of using the internet in EU roaming are slightly different from those for calls and SMS.
Every Orange prepaid user abroad who has not purchased any data package is charged for each megabyte used – 0.79 PLN/1 MB. On the other hand, customers who have purchased internet packages receive a special limit of megabytes to use in roaming.

If the assigned data limit is exceeded, the fee for 1 MB of internet is 0.00672 PLN. It is also worth noting that the assigned data limit for roaming is deducted from the domestic internet package. For example, if a customer uses the 3 GB package for 3 days and fully utilizes the 0.88 GB roaming package, 2.12 GB will remain available for use in the home country.
Until recently, making mobile calls in European countries was very expensive, not to mention the exorbitant prices for using the internet.
After the changes introduced in 2017, the prices for domestic services and those performed in EU roaming have been equalized. You also don't have to worry about running out of funds on your account – topping up your account abroad is just as simple and quick as in Poland, especially for online top-ups.
